Announcement of New Brighter House Stock

By now you are most likely aware of the recent announcements from many major paper producers of the introduction of brighter offset sheets than what has been the industry norm.

Because of the initial feedback we received from our customers and the continued availability of the 84 bright papers, Bethany Press had made the decision not to switch to the brighter sheets.

Recently, we were notified by several of our main customers that they have made the decision to convert their titles to the brighter sheets. This has caused us to re-evaluate our decision and carry the brighter sheets. Rather than incur the additional costs of stocking yet another stock and passing that along to our customers, we will no longer offer the 84 bright sheets.

This change will affect the following house stocks:

  • 50# 440 ppi white
  • 50# 500 ppi white
  • 60# 392 ppi white

We expect this transition to take place over the next several months as we consume the existing 84 bright and start receiving the new 92 bright. The ppi of each stock is the same, so no adjustments for spine width will be necessary as books are reprinted on the new stocks.
